Community Sponsorships

The Blue Bear Project

The Blue Bear Project was started in 2026 as a way for us to give back to the community that has supported our family business for generations. Right here in Lamar County, there are children going to bed each night without a proper place to sleep—and we felt called to do something about it. Through this project, for every Stearns & Foster and Bedgear mattress purchased at Texas Furniture & Appliance, we donate a complete sleep setup to a child in need, including a twin mattress, bed frame, two pillows, and a set of sheets. What began as a simple idea has quickly become a mission close to our hearts: helping local children rest easier, one bed at a time.

Because a good night’s sleep should never be a luxury.

Other Community Sponsorships

Beyond the Blue Bear Project, we are proud to support a wide range of organizations and events that make our community stronger. We are a proud supporter of Baby Gunn’s Animal Rescue, which has rescued thousands of dogs in our area, and we serve as the title sponsor for Paris Gameday, Paris Wine Fest, and the Texas BBQ Blowout. We are also the stage sponsor for the annual 903 Sunsets concert series in downtown Paris each summer. In addition, we help sponsor community favorites like Girl’s Night Out, the Paris Junior College Annual Gala, the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce Celebration, and many other local nonprofit events throughout the year.

Serving Our Community

Community involvement is a core part of who we are. Our owner, Austin Anthony, is deeply invested in the future of Lamar County and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Keep Paris Working board and has previously served on the Love Civic Center board. Giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s part of our responsibility to the community we call home.
